Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park is among the unique things to do in Zimbabwe and Zambia.

Mosi-oa-Tunya “The smoke that thunders” Victoria Falls, located on the Zambezi River between Zimbabwe and Zambia, is a must-see for any waterfall enthusiast. You pay the entry fee and walk down a path with the greenest ferns and trees that you have ever seen.

Even though it’s hot and dry everywhere else, the mist of the waterfall keeps this area cool and moist. You see a bushbuck feeding on the vegetation, while hornbills hop around in the trees. As you walk, the sound gets louder and louder. You turn a corner, and you see it: the world’s largest sheet of falling water, plunging over 100 meters in height and stretching over 1700 meters wide.

You stare in amazement at this colossal cascade, admiring the beauty and power of it. A rainbow over the falls adds to the serene landscape, and you stand in silence as you take it all in. This truly is one of the best waterfalls on the planet and one of the most incredible sights in the natural world.

Featuring Triple Waterfalls in Rifle Falls State Park among the Most Beautiful Waterfalls

Through the eyes of Julie from Travel and Tinsel

I loved the triple waterfalls in Rifle Falls State Park, Colorado. Located about 20 miles west of Glenwood Springs, these waterfalls are some of the easiest to reach. You can hear the roar of the falls as soon as you get out of your car. They are located just a couple of hundred yards from the parking area, so they are extremely easy to reach.

Once you arrive, it’s hard to leave.

Take a short, fairly easy hike up and around the falls.  You’ll pass by small caves before walking behind the waterfalls, where you can feel the cool mist in the air.  We stood there for a while taking photos with the waterfall behind us.   We went in June, and even in the summer, the falls weren’t very crowded, so we could spend as much time as we wanted behind the falls.

Once at the top, you can view the waterfalls from above.  I haven’t been able to do that with many waterfalls I’ve visited. After the hike, stop on the other side of the waterfalls for an up close view at the base.

Even if you don’t take the hike, these are still some of my favorite waterfalls. I love that these waterfalls are easy to visit for those with mobility issues.

Karera Waterfalls, one of the Unique Things to do in Burundi

The beauty of nature! Traveling to Africa takes you to beautiful spots beyond the wildlife.  Karera waterfalls in Burundi🇧🇮!

The falls have been fully protected since 1980 after being declared a tourist destination to be protected by the government. The beautiful, approximately 80m tall Karera Falls belong to the foremost impressive natural landmarks in Burundi.

The Karera Waterfalls immerse deep into the forest with gigantic trees that are stunning to observe as they flow via different paths on six branches and three levels.

All the falls have many smaller cascades. Near the falls, you will find dense forest vegetation, which makes the realm look attractive to all or any forms of travelers, both local and international.

As you’d expect, the falls are at their best during the wet season (especially from October to February). The Karera Waterfalls are 64 km south of Gitega. There is no public transport from Bujumbura to the site, so you’ll need to charter a vehicle in Bujumbura to get there.
