Behind Every African Safari Booking: 12 Traveler Questions Brands Canโt Ignore
Most marketing companies that manage advertising partnerships for destination travel companies selling tours in Africa are not always aware of what happens behind the scenes. In other words, it takes what to convert an inquiry into a safari booking.
There is an audience of 100 million+ ranging from outdoor enthusiasts, wildlife adventurers, beach lovers, and cultural explorers who are always planning their next adventure around Africa.
One needs to stand as a trusted resource to inspire trust and enrich the travel experience for both longtime adventurers and those just getting started to book a lifetime safari with them.
Thereโs a tremendous opportunity for African safari to grow your business, not just by promoting their trips to Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Kenya, etc., but also by understanding what their audience expects from them.
And for travelers planning a safari trip to Africa, knowing what previous guests have inquired about helps them reframe their travel plans for time and budget efficiency.
Below are a few inquiries shared by companies operating in East Africa.
For privacy purposes, no names of travelers and companies have been mentioned.

African Safari Itineraries Explained: What Travelers Ask About Cost, Safety, and Experiences
1. Inquiring about African Safari Options For Seniors: Burundi, Rwanda, and Uganda
We are a group of three senior travelers from New York seeking to start our tour in Burundi and end in Uganda. In Uganda, we would like to explore Kampala, the King’s Palace (Twekobe), Kabaka’s Lake, museums, and local craft markets. We are also interested in visiting Masaka, near the equator, and other points of interest.

2. African Safari Itineraries For Couples: Quick Seven Days through Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi with an emphasis on Gorilla Trekking
We are interested in a 7-day overland tour through Uganda, Rwanda, and Burundi, focusing on gorilla trekking. Our Indian Ocean Tour concludes on June 10th, and we would like to start with you on the same day or one day later, based on flight availability. Please provide information regarding the feasibility and any relevant details.
3. African Itinerary for a Solo Woman: Birthday Trip with Purpose

Hello, I am a single, 41-year-old female looking to travel to East Africa โ Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, possibly Tanzania โ to celebrate my birthday. My travel dates are between March 14 and 24, 2025. I live in Jacksonville, FL. The closest international airport is Orlando (approx 2 hours away). I need to travel on a budget while still keeping safety as a top priority.
I prefer to invest time doing activities that will feel like I live there, versus over-the-top excursions. Emphasis and areas of interest: women, public health, indigenous cultures, and a game sanctuary, if able to fit in. I like to have some structure with a flexible itinerary, but do not want to be tied to a round-the-clock itinerary jam-packed with activities.
Lastly, I have a friend in Nairobi that I plan to see while there. Part of this trip is to explore employment opportunities and network with NGOs primarily in Nairobi. Your site looks like there are opportunities that I could sign up for that also allow flexibility. I look forward to hearing back from someone to discuss further.
4. Maximizing a 3-day African Tour in Multiple Countries
Planning to fly from Kampala to Bujumbura on Friday afternoon, 28 Nov 25. Am interested in your three-day Itinerary โ plus staying a total of five nights (including unplanned time on my own) at Hotel Club Du Lac Tanganyika. Then flying to Dar Es Salaam on Wednesday, 3 Dec 25.
5. African Safari Planning and Options Forย Graduation with Family and Friendsย

Taking my 21-year-old daughter on a Safari for her graduation present, neither one of us has ever been to Africa, but we have traveled much of the world together.
We are planning ahead, in July, but we are completely open to suggestions. Once we have some idea about cost, we will reach out to family and friends to see who may want to join us. Mid-range accommodations would be just fine, but if there are some good prices on luxury, we are open.
6. Inquiring about African Safari Plans in some Countries, and relaxing at its best in others
I was wondering if you would be able to help me. I am looking to book a budget trip to Rwanda, Uganda, Congo, and Zanzibar, including the Bwindi National Park, the Volcanoes National Park, etc. I have no interest in birds. As I have been on quite a few safaris, I am mostly interested in gorillas and chimps, arriving December 16 and leaving Zanzibar January 1st.
I wonโt need to tour the rest of Tanzania as we’ve spent quite a bit of time there on last yearโs group tour. It would be for myself and possibly one other individual. Do you offer anything similar in your upcoming trips? What is the itinerary and cost? I would like to book next week if at all possible.

7. Multi-day Safari planning in East Africa
I am going to be in East Africa for three weeks from 14 June, finishing on 6 July. I fly in and out of Dar-es-Salaam. I will be staying first in Zanzibar and then planning to do a safari at the Serengeti/Ngorongoro. Nothing has been finalised yet, so I’m relatively flexible. My idea was to spend 3-4 days in Rwanda and 3-4 days in Burundi afterwards. A 3-day Burundi tour sounds interesting. However, I do not have a visa to enter Burundi. Is there a possibility to obtain a visa and then go to Rwanda and Burundi with your company within the above time scale?

8. Booking a Private Fishing Charter on Zanzibar Island
Traveling from the UK in October, I’m looking for a day trip on a luxury power yacht to Mnemba Island; fishing is not essential. Five friends and I would like to go dolphin watching and snorkelling. Is this something you can help with? What are the costs?

9. Celebrating 50 Years of Marriage with a Gorilla Trekking Experience
My husband and I are in our late 60โs and early 70โs and traveling to Rwanda at the end of January, maybe for 4 or 5 days. We want to experience the gorillas in their natural habitat. We are going to be married for 50 years and thought this would be an amazing adventure.
We are thinking of adding a small detour to Burundi. A 3-day tour would be fine, but we were curious if 3 days would suffice for Gishora Drum Sanctuary, Karera waterfalls, and Kibira. However, we are confused about the visa. We read somewhere that they issue a 3-day visa on arrival at the airport. Is that true?

10. For some, Gorilla trek and Culture make a perfect Itinerary in Rwanda
We would be interested in a tour taking place in late July 2025. Will there be a tour running then, please? We are 4 people, and we want to stay in 2 rooms, each with 2 beds with an ensuite shower. Our special request is a gorilla trek itinerary with accommodation suitable for older people. We are also interested in the scenery and the culture of Rwanda.

11. Returning on an African Safari with the same enthusiasm, but with safety Questions

I previously toured Rwanda with you and had always wanted to get back to visit Burundi and spend 7 days. I have another tour starting in Rwanda with another group starting on July 17th, but I’m free from July 11th or 12th through then, and I was wondering if it might be possible to visit Burundi over those days.
A few notes:
- I’m not yet sure when I would be able to arrive. I think it would be near 1 pm, but I’m not sure if I could make that work for the 11th or the 12th of July.
- I’d likely be departing on the 4 pm Rwandair flight. I was originally looking at crossing the border by land, but it doesn’t seem like that is possible now.
- How dangerous is the situation for me? My embassy is telling me to seriously reconsider travel (that the central market and parts of the north are currently unsafe), and I see news of tension between Burundi and Rwanda. I would love to be able to visit now while I’m in the area, but I could also see holding off until situations are more stable.

12. Removing a piece from Your Multi-day African Safari, still enjoying the Experience
I will be traveling in East Africa in December, and I was hoping that you might be able to assist me with a tour itinerary to visit Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, and, perhaps if open, the DRC. I see from your website that you offer tours that take in the main sights in each of the countries (e.g., Gorilla Trekking, city tours, Nyiragongo, etc.). I will be arriving in Kampala on 19 December and plan to depart from either Kigali or Kampala on 30 December, so I have 10 days from 20 December to 29 December inclusive.
I would be grateful if you could let me know what you could offer me as a tour during this period, as you have been highly recommended.
