Creative entrepreneurial business ideas in tourism are born from human insight, culture, and experience—things no ChatGPT or Google can ever generate.

Most entrepreneurial business ideas that live longer usually have a common element that very few people don’t spend time on. And that is the entry struggle battle.  If you pick any of the world-recognized entrepreneurs whose products or services find themselves in our daily life, you will notice that element–the story of the brand. The common characteristic is solving a problem that could have started as a solution to an individual problem, but has turned into a whole village solution.

Did they have Google or AI to generate ideas for their businesses? If some did, how did the guy before Google? Did they have another version of Google or ChatGPT to help me with idea automation?

With a single click, the modern era of communication affords numerous opportunities for entrepreneurs, whether those in large corporations or small businesses, also known as entrepreneurial businesses.

It’s easy to think that copying an existing idea makes you an entrepreneur. However, true entrepreneurship is not about simply replicating what you see—it’s about recognizing unique opportunities and addressing real needs.

If ChatGPT and the likes are popping up, generating a lot of business examples and niches, that does not mean we can apply them.

The problem is not just depending on AI or ChatGPTed business ideas, but the problem is hoping for entrepreneurial results with zero effort.

By the way, what does entrepreneur mean? Multiple sources converge on this meaning, which we will discuss a bit in this article:

“Entrepreneurship is the creationor extraction of economic value by identifying and commercializing opportunities to deliver products or services, a process that typically requires considerable initiative and bears risk.”

Although AI and search engines seem to provide easy solutions for business ideas, relying on them in your entrepreneurial journey is risky.

The main concern is that true entrepreneurial success relies on human creativity and local insight, not just readily available online suggestions.

From the very sense of entrepreneurship, there are critical elements that AI search engines deny you.

Identification of a problem: You cannot ask AI to identify problems your neighbors, in a large sense of the target audience, have when you should be the right person to see it.

Chances are you will be served by ChatGPT results that have already served to other people,” entrepreneurs” who ChatGPTed before you. And that’s not identification, it is copying. Or you are being served leftovers.

Creation: There is little to be created here. Most of the ideas you will receive are deja vu business ideas. Nothing new here. Just another AI copy and paste text.

No offense to content creators, particularly social media marketers who brand themselves as “creators,” but seriously, the right word could be something different. Maybe “AI content Agent.”

Where are we actually heading if we continuously rely on AI-generated ideas? Most tourism businesses have thrived on unconventional ways of thinking and doing things to meet travel needs.

This post aims to bring a fresh perspective to travel and hospitality professionals who are committed to staying true to the essence of tourism.

Why Should You Stop to rely on AI-generated travel business ideas?

This doesn’t need scientic researches to convince anybody. It is the plain truth. If you’ve ever spent 10-20 minutes on ChatGPTing business ideas, you know your brain is all over places.

In other words, you are doing something that normally requires brain exercises while your brain takes a break, of was sent elsewhere.

Then your brain comes back when ChatGPT finishes generating results. And here there is another problem.

Most people don’t read or proofread AI-generated results. A fellow human who just submitted a 1000-word essay would require you to go through the text and check misspellings, grammatical errors, etc…

Why isn’t it the case with AI-generated content? They trust AI strongly enough that they think they don’t have any corrections or things to add.

Among the lack of creativity, there are dangers for those hoping to start a business using ChatGPT.

Conventional online research on a particular subject you’ve identified in your area is great. But it is impossible to generate unique entrepreneurial business ideas in tourism or any field you like, using AI tools.

Here is why.

ChatGPT and fellow AI engines rely on existing data collected from multiple sources. In fact, they collect, mix, reframe, and then bring them back to us. You will notice that most business ideas you get from AI-GPT are repetitive, with the same meaning, with a little different vocabulary.

If you are a serious entrepreneurial business mind who wants to invest in tourism, you should stay away from AI-GPT ideas. How could you rely on AI ideas if you want to run a culture-based travel comoany for instance, and expect human response to your venture?

The wise way to start a culture-oriented travel company would be first to know, experience, and love the culture. Only humans are qualified to identify the unique riches of a tradition or local culture in a given destination.

Not because you’ve ChatGPTed tourism micro-trends and hyper-niche opportunities doesn’t mean you will get viable results. Definitely, you will get what everyone gets when they do the same research. And that is repetition.

Even if you are lucky enough to get an idea that looks unique, because you didn’t train your brain towards” starting and running a business” from the beginning, chances are you won’t be able to apply it.

Now the question is: At what stage should entrepreneurs use AI tools?

Why Dual Optimization For AI and Luxury Travelers Is Non-Negotiable
When Is Dual Optimization For AI Engines and Luxury Travelers Non-Negotiable?

You should use AI less or never use AI at the stage of creation. If the human brain can’t usher into the beautiful steps of owning creativity, undistracted observation, and interpreting local insights, human needs, then things will definitely fall apart at some point.

You Can Champion Experiential Tourism Niches When You Do This

You go beyond the quick suggestions from AI, so-called hyper-localized travel experiences. What does a hyper-localized experience even mean? This is an AI-language. I have not meant a single person using the term_ unless they have been fed by AI.

How could a travel experience be localized in the first place? Every event happens in a certain locale, place, or region. The “hyper-localized” is just an illusion that you could do something different and highly unique.

And you will notice that some of the examples AI tools generate range from mere things that people have been doing for centuries. Staying in villages, visiting local craft workshops, and attending events is not something unique. And local storytelling about a particular tradition or ways of doing things, either.

Seriously, how could a travel agent customize sensory journeys for a group of travelers? If the idea is about wine-tasting or culinary tours, then we already have them in most countries. Some tours are even great organized to allow tourists joing cooking class.

The usual lie that there is a group of tourists, aka niche audiences, out there seeking multi-sensory travel experiences. That niche awaiting your new venture doesn’t simply exist nowhere. At least in the algorithmic world, not in the real one.

More lies that you should get out of your entrepreneurial business ideas in tourism.

If you’ve been taught by a self-proclaimed TikTok travel influencer or entrepreneurial coach,  write this down: there simply are no tech-enhanced human-centric business ideas.

In tourism, everything that is altered misleads about destination narratives. So there are no Augmented Reality Heritage Trails unless you are into video games.

Every heritage trail has a story linked to people, traditions, and cultures. Why the need to augment it when people want to experience the activity?

If you see this phrase,” Local legends and history are activated via AR apps or smart glasses,” be sure you are entering a new territory of video games.

Another lie lies in the beautifying of everything we already have. Have you read somewhere in an article saying, “Here are 10 Entrepreneurial Business Ideas You should explore,” and then found yourself trying to understand what “AI-Personalized Adventure Itineraries” are all about?

There is no way you can combine AI with human local guides in the name of offering the “so-called hyper-personalized experiences”.

Those are terms and things that only exist in the world of algorithms. Not because ChatGPT and the likes try to alter and twist words make them business ideas. There is no human-AI collaboration is entrepreneurial journey. This is a tendency to equate humans with AI algorithms.

If need be, AI tools should execute what a human brain-created ideas not the opposite.

I could go on writing about and against so-called AI-unique business ideas, but let me stop here.
